Babysitting Lailah

Had Granddaughter Lailah over the house yesterday from 10am thru 7pm. We first did some shopping at Sam’s club, which she loves since it gives her some “running around” space and she got a sucker from the greeter, and received lots of smiles from everyone there.
After getting home from that, we played “play-doh” (twice), “Minnie mouse dress-up”, “choo-choo trains”, read a few books (with reading one book 3-4 times, called “From head to toe”), played “iPad” for a bit longer than I wanted her to, and she had a short “tearful” moment after I had to end the “iPad play” earlier than SHE wanted. Then we watched a “Micky mouse clubhouse” together.
Granma dropped by (after work) and we took her to the local garden center (“Pahl’s”), found 3 nice sized pumpkins, and a small pumpkin for her, with Minnie Mouse painted on it. Pahl’s had a huge pumpkin “bouncy”, she was the only kid in it, so she really didn’t know what to do (and wanted Granpa to join her, but, alas, I was a bit over the 44 inch max height requirement), so she only spent a couple of minutes in it before wanting to come out. They also had a “corn pit”, which she loved playing in with Granma, both of them playing in the pit for 20 (or more) mins.
Drove over to local restaurant, and as I was carrying her in to the place, she fell asleep on my shoulder, and slept on the booth’s bench the whole time as we ate our dinner, without waking up. She was pooped out (yes, I did try putting her down for a nap in the afternoon). Finally dropped her off at her mom & dad’s place around 7:30.

I love her to death, what a great kid, she’s captured my heart, and won’t give it back. Darn her!
Ok, one more thought: She said to Granma, “I have an idea …”. She is only 2-1/2, and she constantly amazes me.
