Mid Term for Summer Session

School-wise: As mentioned last week, I had my mid-term exam (for “Object Oriented Software Analysis and Design” – which is always a mouthful to say) a week ago. I don’t do well on tests, I blank out, I don’t study as much as I should before taking the thing, I can’t remember “crap”, and did I mention, I get exam taker’s/writer’s block?? Well, after taking it last week, I guesstimated I would be getting a “C” (max grade) based on my inability to answer a couple of questions (out of a total of 15, I think).

Our professor passed back the exams last night. I received a “92.9”, that “.9” is significant, since “93.0” is an “A”, and a “92.9” apparently is an “A-“. Go figure.

My two project teammates wandered over to where I was sitting (to discuss our project), apparently noticing the grade, and both commented they’d received a lower grade, which I found quite interesting since one of them is way sharper than I am in this particular subject area (the other “kid” has no software experience or background). The sharper guy mentioned to me that he knew the answers to a few of the questions he’d gotten wrong, but didn’t agree with the professor and so, he basically said that as his answer on those questions – and I guess the professor wasn’t happy with that type of answer. Lol.

Only 3 weeks left (6 more class sessions) before the term is over. By the way, the only things (in this class) being graded are the mid term exam, the final exam and the project, each being 33% of the final grade. With the great mid term grade, and a probable good project grade, I won’t have to sweat the final exam (as I usually do). Whew.
