Lailah News – going to the Apple Orchard

So.

Lots and lots of my FB friends (all three of you) have been recently asking me:

“Hey, what’s up with Lailah these days?”,
“What’s with the no recent stories about Lailah?”, and my personal favorite,
“Got any new excruciatingly long kitchen table painting videos of our favorite little girl?”, as well as,
“Man, we really miss hearing about Lailah” comments, etc.

Therefore, I wanted to share a couple of things with all of her fans out there:

First, Lailah is now “supervising” a day-care team (of toddlers/pre-k?) full time (5 days/wk) and consequently isn’t able to babysit me (the once or twice a week) like she used to do.

Second: it’s kind of a long story, but I’ll make it short. Lailah apparently was missing a certain someone, and consequently made time in her busy (soccer and day-care) schedule to babysit me twice today. I got to be with her for 3-4 hours this afternoon (before she went off to play with GranMaRose), and also, later this evening, she dropped over to babysit and to have a surprise sleepover with me.

She currently is snoring away in her little bed, and I cannot wait until morning to watch her slowly wake up. We played with our usual stuff, but also set up my FisherPrice train on the LR floor for me to play with. Eventually, she was given a bath and it’s amazing how much she loves being in the tub with her bath toys/friends, playing in the water and suds, pouring twenty ounce cups of (bath) water over her head, etc.

She is growing up so quickly – someone (not me) apparently has taught her to say “literally” (I suspect it’s her Aunt Kelli Otis, given her Aunt’s predisposition to sharing these wonderful language tidbits with her – slang, cuss words, trendy phrases, valley girl-speak, etc. – JK Auntie!). Apparently, it’s now her favorite new word, “literally”!

The plan is to take her to the Apple Orchard in the morning tomorrow, with the associated “let’s hide from GranPaBrian in the huge corn maze, and see if he freaks out because he can’t find me” event, then, the horse driven hay ride, and the usual picking of apples from the trees while being carried in GPB’s arms or on top of his shoulders, etc.

During today’s afternoon “session”, she walks away from me, about to go off to a different room, to do whatever she is now wanting to do, pauses midstream, walks back to me, looks me in the eye, and says: “oh, by the way GranPa Brian, I love you” (with a wink), then skips out of the room, hands over her mouth, giggling her head off.

Aren’t. Little. Kids. Adorable.

Very. Happy. To. Have. This. (Brat). In. My. Life.

Aren’t. You. Glad. I. Didn’t. Post. Ten. Million. Lailah. Soccer. Pics. Today.

No. Excruciatingly. Long. Video. Either.

Have a nice day, ya’all.
