What I go through to show my love for the little girl

Jordan and Katie (Lailah’s mom & dad) drive over to the house this morning to pick something up for her.

Jordan comes into the house, leaving the two girls (mom & daughter) in their running car, keeping themselves warm. It’s just too cold for them to go through the effort of unbuckling her, walking to the front door, just to walk out again with the thing they were picking up. Made perfect sense – don’t want to get her sick, right before Christmas.

But.

I still needed my Lailah fix.

Without putting on a coat, with only my boots on (but not laced up), I run outside, run down the walk, boots (almost) falling off, peer into the car, knock on her window, and fling open the car door.

GranPa!

I lean in, give her a quick kiss, and shut the door and run back inside.

Jordan is still inside – wondering what the hell is going on (lol)

I get back inside, and he gets what he came to get, while I run back outside, go thru what I just finished going thru a few seconds earlier, but this time, after opening Lailah’s door, and giving her another kiss, I wait for a kiss back, and of course, I get a “doggie kiss” from her (YUCK). I shut her door, then I throw open Katie’s door, lean in and gave her a awkward hug (she has her seat belt on), shut Katie’s door, and run back into the house (all the while, without a coat on).

I know, silly me.

But.

I love my family.

And needed to show them that love this morning.

I am so blessed.
