Well, I think I should first explain about “Jim”, who’s seem to have fallen right at the exact moment of me taking these pics. Poor Jim, he had a really rough night last night. He was at the bar last night, forgetting he had to work this morning. Good thing he’s the foreman at Stanley Stove – so, if anyone’s going to shout at him for coming to work drunk, it’ll be Jim, shouting at himself. Lol.
Ok, so, this morning, I repainted (no, not the windows!), but the supporting framework for exterior stairs. Last night, I had stained the framing a dark blue to match the staircase structure, but I took the brush out this morning, painting them brown. Much better.
Added a Stanley Stove Co. sign above the barn doors, a Stanley sign on the exterior stair structure, and also, improvised by building a billboard type sign for the roof, a feature that also came out way better than expected – since I had to use some scrap materials to create it from scratch.
Let’s see, what else? Weathered the four exterior vents that I added last night. Weathered and glued two advertisement signs (car dealer, and bug repellent- lol), onto the back of the main structure.
Only things left are the two decks, their framing support underneath (I’m dreading doing this – lots of tiny pieces of wood to glue), and weathering of the exterior staircase structure.
Boy, I have to admit, this project has turned out way better that I ever imagined.
I really would like to put it on eBay to see how much I could get for it – not that I need the money, but just to see how much value other people would place on it. But, if I do that, then it would be gone forever to that bidder – and I’m just not that type of person to part with the things I build. Too proud of my effort to do that.
Couple of more hours and this will be done.
[the plan this morning, when I sat down at the project table, was to start on Chaulky’s Pool Hall, but I’m glad to have to continued with my work with Stanley’s this morning.]I am so flipping motivated with doing these kits – I’m glad I made the decision to move to a larger scale (HO scale) kits, much easier on the eyes. I think I wouldn’t be as motivated, if I wasn’t happy with my effort on the ones I’ve completed these last three months. I know I’m still nowhere near being a “master” builder, but I can see, I’m pretty much past being a “beginner”.
