Big B’s birthday thoughts

There are times when words do not escape me, and other times when I’m so overwhelmed that I cannot find the right words to express my feelings.

This is NOT one of those times.

I am so very grateful to all of my former HS friends, my former Unisys, WF, and USPS colleagues/friends, my family and close friends that sent me birthday greetings yesterday, via Facebook or other methods. Each and every one of you has given me many wonderful memories over the years. Thank you all, for your birthday greetings yesterday.

I also want to thank several of my former Unisys India colleagues for their birthday greetings to me – while we actually never met in person and only worked together for a very short period of time, your subsequent FB friendship has always held a special place in my heart.

And, Praveen Reddy Dodda, you are the best, my young friend. Thank you for your text yesterday! I truly miss you and our Thai lunch outings in Orlando.

So. I was able to spend my birthday with Lailah and her family last night – we all had a great dinner together at the local food & drink establishment. Then, all of us played “bingo”, with Lailah sitting in my (and everyone else’s) lap dotting the numbers as they were being called out, and then, later, watching her “dance” by herself on the outside patio (someday soon, I know she’ll be on the table top (with her mom Katie McCormick), arms in the air, screaming “woo-hoo”). Anyway, after several hours of fun, with me holding up four fingers and saying “I’ve only had two drinks”, it was time to wish everyone a good night, and to receive one last hug and kiss from my girl. Each and every day I get to see her, it feels like it’s my birthday, and I’m about to open a new present. She. Is. The. Best. Present. Ever. Thank you so much Jordan and Katie for bringing her into this world, and for bringing her into my life.

Thank you everyone for sharing this past year with me. Love you all.
