Another person’s essay on internet bullies

The following are not my words, but reflect how I feel:

There’s a whole lot of hatred going on in the Facebook world right now. In my experience to date, Facebook rants, keyboard “warriors”, and emotionally charged bantering back and forth has never nor will they ever solve a national problem. Furthermore, they will never change a person’s point of view. It just won’t happen.

So do this….walk away from the computer. Hang out with your loved ones. Be grateful you are alive and don’t waste another breath or neuron spreading anger, distaste and ugliness. Celebrate the good, and let’s overcome the bad together, as one team. We are not on opposing sides. We are as one against a common enemy. It’s the only way we will win.

Put down the electronic device and relax. Your mind, body and soul will thank you in the long run.

Thank goodness for poor signal out here camping because I will confess that it is hard to look away from comments and threads that are going nowhere. I was tempted numerous times to comment, but thought, what will it change? In the grand scheme of things, what will it accomplish besides getting me all worked up? Will a Facebook comment and almost certain retaliation comments make this world a better or bitter place?

So…I decided commenting is in nobody’s interest except the enemy. For this reason, many of you should just stop regardless of who has the last word. I love you all, but I don’t like seeing the negative side with no chance of peaceful and educational rebuttals. It all becomes too heated and emotional.

For me, I finished part one of chemo round 73 today. I have finally made it back to my family to finish our last night of camping. I had an amazing welcome back from my beautiful family. Lastly and unstaged, Logan climbed up in my arms and laid down for a while just silent. It was incredible.

I am blessed. I am thankful for many things. It’s a miracle that I am alive to make these memories.

We love you all for so many amazing reasons. Have a beautiful evening.
